Ojai Earth Day is becoming Ojai Earth Week! Instead of a one-day event at Oak Grove School, there will be events taking place throughout the Ojai Valley over the course of the week. There will not be a public event at Oak Grove School this year. Look here for coming details and a week-long schedule of events. Contact Andy for details.


Pop-Up Produce Stands

Food for Thought Ojai will celebrate Earth Week by hosting 4 Pop-Up Produce Stands in collaboration with our hard-working Garden Clubs at Summit, Mira Monte, Meiners Oaks and Topa Topa schools. Stock up on seeds, plants starts and garden goodies at the dates and times listed below:

Monday, April 17th 2:30 at Summit Elementary, 12525 Ojai-Santa Paula Rd.
Tuesday, April 18th 2:30 at Mira Monte Elementary, 1216 Loma Dr.
Wednesday, April 19th 1:30 pm at Meiners Oaks Elementary, 400 S. Lomita
Thursday, April 20th 2:30 at Topa Topa Elementary, 916 Mountain View

As a special added bonus, ALL sales made over Earth Week will be matched by Jack Johnson's All at Once organization.

 

Downtown Earth Day Celebration at the Ojai Women’s Club

Sponsored by the Ojai Valley Green Coalition, the Ventura River Water District and the Center for Spiritual LivingThis will be a downscaled version of a traditional Earth Day gathering. It will feature an Electric Vehicle Show Case and a Water Security Theme. There will be booths, panel discussions, Garden activities, earth healing activities and water conservation demonstrations and more.

Saturday, April 22nd 10:00AM - 4:00PM at The Ojai Valley Woman's Club 0 441 East Ojai Avenue in Ojai. 

 

March for Science

The March for Science is an international movement, led by organizers distributed around the globe. This movement is taking place because of the simultaneous realization by thousands of people who value science in their lives that staying silent is no longer an option. The local march will start with a gathering that will include speakers and local students being honored. People who attend the local March will be counted with the state and national total of participants so there is no need to drive to Los Angeles to participate. Act Locally!

Saturday, April 22nd 9:00-10:00AM Meet at the Libbey Park fountain, and then the march begins at the Ojai Valley Woman's Club. 

 

Wheeler Gorge Visitor Center Open House

Kids Crafts many display of live critters meet their handlers and learn about the history of each. Meet Smoky Bear and have your picture taken with him. Learn About the California Condor and Other Birds
